Who I Work With: Couples
Available: In-Person (Brockville) and Virtually (Ontario)
Angela is a Registered Social Worker with over 30 years of clinical experience across child welfare, hospital, and primary care settings. She holds a Master’s degree in Leadership and has spent her career supporting individuals, couples, and families through complex and often high-acuity challenges.

A central focus of Angela’s work is couples therapy. She supports partners who feel stuck in patterns of conflict, disconnection, or repeated misunderstandings, helping them better understand the dynamics shaping their relationship and move toward more effective communication. Her approach is structured and collaborative, with an emphasis on ensuring both partners feel heard while working toward meaningful and lasting change.

Angela works with couples navigating a range of challenges, including ongoing conflict, loss of connection, rebuilding trust after rupture, and uncertainty about the future of their relationship. She also offers discernment counselling for couples who feel unsure whether to continue working on their relationship or move toward separation. This short-term, structured process helps partners gain clarity with intention and care.

Angela’s background includes work with the Children’s Aid Society, hospital-based discharge planning, and most recently serving as the sole Social Worker within a large Community Family Health Team. In that role, she provided comprehensive mental health support to individuals, couples, and families experiencing chronic illness, significant life stressors, and co-occurring mental health and addiction concerns.

She brings advanced experience in crisis intervention, family systems work, addictions counselling, and evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). She is especially skilled in supporting complex situations that benefit from a coordinated, systems-based perspective.

With over three decades of experience, Angela brings a steady, grounded presence to even the most emotionally charged situations. Clients often share that they feel understood quickly and supported in navigating difficult conversations in a way that feels respectful, focused, and productive.

Outside of her professional work, Angela values the connection between physical and mental well-being. She has a long-standing interest in fitness and enjoys staying active through walking, hiking, yoga, and breathwork. She also appreciates time spent outdoors and with family and friends, and values the balance these moments bring to her life.
